Summer Palace Necklace (Purple Garden)

Summer Palace is one of the first forms I developed. The concept is two interlocking cubes. I really like this form as it is so simple, yet it creates some interesting angles. Sometimes you can see the two cubes, but when it turns you see a different shape.

I originally made it from several nets which made it a little complicated to put together, but I have now created a new net so the form can be folded from one piece of washi!

This Washi comes from one of my favourite Washi shops in Kyoto. With a deep eggplant purple background and shimmering gold, pink, red and white flowers, I love its modern, fresh look, while it is still so subtle and easy to wear. 

Each piece comes with its own matching box to give as a special gift or for easy storage.
