Misty Valley Necklace (Chartreuse flower)
Misty Valley is one of my favourite forms, it is tricky to make but totally worth it!
One of the things I like most about it is that it can look completely different from different angles. Sometimes you will focus on the star, seeing the triangular inlets, and how the pattern is folded in. At another moment, your eyes will focus on the flat pentagons which are shadowed by the triangles.
For this Misty Valley I chose Washi I found in a great shop in Kyoto, Japan. It looks vintage, retro, slightly hippy, yet full on trend. A lemon yellow background is overlayed with baby blue waves (in a very traditional Japanese design). On top of that are drops of flowers in red, yellow, pink, fuchsia and white, all outlined in sparkling gold.
Each piece of jewellery comes in its own matching box, so you can give it straight to a friend as a gift, or use the box for easy storage.
